For the Love of Trees

Location: Red Deer Public Library Snell Auditorium

Tuesday May 4th, 2010
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join presenter Elaine Johnson for this lunch bag seminar (12:05-12:50pm) at the Library.

This session (celebrated during the week of Arbor Day) will introduce you to a citizens' program (Citizens Action Group on the Environment or CAGE) that started the tree planting movement in Red Deer. The latest initiative saw 100,000 seedlings planted in 2008! Come find out the extraordinary value of trees to the community and the environment. Learn how tree planting started with CAGE and what the City has done and what they plan to do in the future “for the love of trees.” Then find out what you can do to keep the trees in your yard healthy. (Coffee served. Please bring your own lunch and a mug.)
