Planting Native Species Plants

Last Wednesday and Thursday, rethink red deer volunteers were busy planting native species plants in the future 2-acre food forest at Spruce Lane Organic Farm.

The plants were awarded to rethink red deer as a project partner in the Native Plant Producers Society of Alberta's "Partners in Nativescaping" program:

We've planted about 500 of the 1500 plugs so far and the remaining plugs are going in this Monday evening (28th). We need about 6-12 volunteers to help finish the job so please RSVP to this email or come out to Spruce Lane - about 3km north of Blackfalds on the west side of Hwy 2A - at 6pm. We'll work until sundown (between 9pm and 10pm).
