Elections Forum - Website Moderating Opportunity
Electionsforum.ca is a website created and administered by the Red Deer Public Library. The purpose of the website is to provide a forum where candidates for Mayor, City Council, Red Deer Public School Board and Red Deer Catholic School Board can present their campaign platforms and interact with community members in an online environment.

Documentary Screening: "Collapse"
The local Green Party EDA (electoral district association) presents the premiere screening of the documentary "Collapse". The documentary will be shown on Thursday, July 29th at the Snell Auditorium (lower level of the Red Deer Public Library) at 6 pm. Admission is free.
It features former Los Angeles police officer Michael Ruppert on the subjects of peak oil, global financial mismanagement and the future of civilization. Roger Ebert gave it 4 out of 4 stars and said "I don't know when I've seen a thriller more frightening".

Give us your opinion on Red Deer's environmental future
Red Deerians can help create an environmentally responsible future for the city by attending a Community Workshop for the Environmental Master Plan on Tuesday, June 15.
The workshop, hosted by The City of Red Deer, will feature hands-on activities to gather public input on Red Deer’s environmental future. It will be a forum for residents to share opinions about Red Deer’s environmental strengths and weaknesses, and provide suggestions for environmental improvements. The workshop will be interactive and fun, and citizens of all ages are encouraged to attend. No environmental experience or knowledge is necessary; people need only bring their opinions and experience as citizens of Red Deer.
Date: Tuesday June 15, 2010
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Golden Circle (4620 47A Avenue)
The Environmental Master Plan is being developed to define clear priorities, targets and strategies to achieve a 25-year vision for Red Deer’s environmental future.
